The Royal Zoological Society of Scotland (RZSS) is welcoming broadcaster and children’s author Dermot O’Leary to Highland Wildlife Park today (16 March), to share the story of Scotland’s wildcats in an exclusive online event for Scottish school children.

Alongside introducing his new children’s book, Toto the Ninja Cat and the Legend of the Wildcat, Dermot met some real wildcats at the park and will be helping pupils learn about the species with help from RZSS led conservation project, Saving Wildcats, and the Scottish Book Trust.

Wildcats are critically endangered in Britain, and Saving Wildcats is working to prevent the extinction of the species in Scotland by breeding and releasing them into the wild. Find out more at savingwildcats.org.uk.
